SOPHIE is an English girl in her mid-twenties who has just moved to Paris to fulfil her dream of discovering the world of writing and film making in the French capital. Not only is she dealing with the recent loss of her grandfather, but she is also working at a job that she hates and has a bully as a boss who talks down to her on a daily basis. After spending a childhood watching the great classic films with enticing stories, all Sophie wants to do is tell hers to the world. Unfortunately, her current situation is preventing her from fulfilling her dream. However, one day, she stumbles across an old book that her grandfather gave to her and a note that he once wrote to her. These powerful words are what Sophie has needed to start this new chapter in her life. She finds the resolve to stand up to her boss but most importantly, she finds the courage to sit down and finally start writing her own story.
