Supari Studios (a digital content studio based in Mumbai, India) collaborated with Mai Family Services (an NGO based in Michigan, USA) to create an animated short film that seeks to tackle the issue of domestic violence among the South Asian community in the United States. The script, a spoken word poem portrays the story of an Indian woman who has been married off and sent to America in hopes of creating a new life for herself. Instead, she deals with domestic abuse in an alien environment. As an outsider, in an unfamiliar land, and without the support of her family, she struggles with loneliness, depression, neglect and abuse.
