My Body Is Not Yours*

This film is a short, experimental documentary about the messages, implications, struggles, and victories that come with having a female body. Through six narratives by people speaking from various spectra of sexuality, race, and gender identity, ‘MY BODY IS NOT YOURS’ sheds light on both the particular/individual and universal/unifying aspects of emotional and physical development that define the female bodied experience. Taking on an experimental documentary form, the combination of conventional interviews and voice-over with unconventional uses of text, found footage, and other editing techniques provides a film language in which to ponder how we consume and perceive images of the female body. Contains nudity and light profanity.
