In the Colombian capital of Bogotá, important streets and main thoroughfares have been closed to motorized traffic every Sunday since 1974, opening them up to cyclists, skaters, joggers, and pedestrians. The then-young architect Jaime Ortiz Mariño, founder of the world’s largest cycling movement, was available for extensive interviews. The documentary offers insights into life on the streets of Bogotá and focuses on activists and cyclists. Cycling is the most popular sport in Colombia, second only to soccer. Bogotá’s parks feature designated cycling routes where countless cyclists meet for training.
