Rani is a female centric short film about the subtle cultural discrimination faced by a 15 year old school going girl from Indian society. The film also structures as a story meant to speak about arcane notions of gender identities and roles. It is paralleled by a story of her abduction by two men who wish to molest and kill her and how she frees herself from that situation , not by the help of a male (protagonist) the way main stream cinemas portray it but through her own perseverance.
