Varanasi – a city older than the universe, the spiritual capital of India. A city where time has stood still. A place bound by tradition and the dying come to free their souls. But in the midst of this rich culture on the banks of the holy Ganges river, traditions spawn darker undercurrents giving birth to societal issues such as the caste system and prostitution. Diving under the surface in Varanasi, the film “Confluence” takes the viewer through the visual abundance of the city and peeks into the life and struggle of the people there.
