The latest work by Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino. Italian President Mariano De Santis is a Catholic and an experienced lawyer torn between the desire to sign a law legalising euthanasia and the need to consider a petition for clemency for two people who killed their partners. La grazia opened last year’s Venice Film Festival, where Toni Servillo was awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actor.

Wuthering Heights
The film is directed by Emerald Fennell, known for Promising Young Woman and Saltburn. The lead roles are played by Margot Robbie (Barbie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, I, Tonya) and Jacob Elordi (Saltburn, Priscilla, Deep Water). They portray Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, respectively.
The film is based on Emily Brontë’s classic novel, which centres on the dramatic relationship between the main characters. This adaptation will be the sixth feature‑film version of the cult book. Based on early footage and reactions to preview screenings, the new Wuthering Heights looks as provocative as the director’s previous work.

After the gloomy and terrifying Frankenstein, 2025 brings us Maggie Gyllenhaal’s wild adventure The Bride!. Together, they bring a young murder victim back to life, who becomes his bride (Jessie Buckley). The couple finds themselves in the midst of a turbulent whirlwind of passion, violence and social upheaval. The action takes place in Chicago in the 1930s.

Mother Mary
Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel star in this psychological drama‑thriller directed by David Lowery (The Green Knight). Hathaway plays a superstar pop artist, and Coel portrays a designer she enlists to create a dress for her comeback tour. Their complicated relationship forces both characters to relive old traumas and confront intense emotional conflicts.

The Devil Wears Prada 2
The film reunites original stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, with Emily Blunt also returning. According to the script, Miranda (Meryl Streep) faces problems at work and turns to her former assistant Emily (Blunt) for help, believing she is the only one who can save the magazine and restore its success. The sequel is directed by David Frankel, who also directed the first film, with Aline Brosh McKenna returning as screenwriter. Supergirl
Millie Alcock, known for her roles in House of the Dragon and Sirens, stars as Kara Zor‑El, Superman’s biological cousin, in the upcoming Supergirl film. The story explores a darker and more unusual origin for Kara before she arrives on Earth to undertake a critical mission. The feature is directed by Craig Gillespie and produced as part of the new DC Universe slate.

Moana
A live‑action adaptation of the 2016 animated hit Moana is scheduled for release on 10 July 2026. The plot follows the original story about the chief’s daughter who sets out across the ocean to save her people. Catherine Lagaʻaia stars as Moana, and Dwayne Johnson returns as Maui, reprising his role from the animated films. The remake updates the tale with live‑action sequences and musical performances.

The Odyssey
The Odyssey is Christopher Nolan’s epic adaptation of Homer’s classic poem, telling the story of King Odysseus of Ithaca and his long, perilous journey home after the Trojan War. The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, with Zendaya as Athena, Tom Holland as his son Telemachus, and Anne Hathaway as Penelope. It is being shot using advanced IMAX film technology and is one of Nolan’s most ambitious projects to date.

The Red Ruta Train
The film unfolds aboard the Red Ruta train, where love at first sight is not only possible but seemingly inevitable. The legendary symbol of love helps some passengers find true love, others preserve it, and still others realise it was there all along. New characters are played by Oleksandr Rudynskyi (The First Days), Roman Lutskyi (Honeymoon), Kateryna Varchenko (Border Guards), Vyacheslav Dovzhenko (Cyborgs) and others. Returning cast members include Stanislav Boklan, Kateryna Kuznetsova, Anna Kuzina, Yuriy Gorbunov, Lilia Rebrik, Mykhailo Khoma, Olesia Samayeva, Dmytro Pavko and Anastasia Ivanyuk. The film is directed by Oleksiy Yesakov (Pets) and shot by cinematographer Yuriy Korol (Train on 31 December, Mavka: The True Myth, anthology The First Days).

The story follows Eleanor and Marianne Dashwood, two sisters who, after the death of their father, find themselves without means of support and embark on a search for love, financial stability and personal fulfilment. Daisy Edgar‑Jones, known for Normal People and Where the Crawdads Sing, stars as the older sister, Elinor Dashwood. This new film adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel will be released in Australian cinemas on 10 September 2026, following its scheduled international theatrical rollout.

The most powerful man in the world is preparing to embark on a crazy and very dangerous mission. The main character is ready to do anything to prove to the whole world that he is the true saviour of humanity, capable of incredible things to save others. But very soon it turns out that the terrible catastrophe he himself has unleashed may soon destroy absolutely everything around him.
The film, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu (Amores Perros, The Revenant), features a star-studded cast: Tom Cruise, Riz Ahmed, Emma D’Arcy, John Goodman, and Jesse Plemons.

Dune 3
Denis Villeneuve says this will be his last film in the Dune series. It is based on Frank Herbert’s next novel, Dune Messiah. The action takes place 12 years after Paul Atreides ascended to the throne of the emperor. The film will feature Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Rebecca Ferguson, who starred in the previous instalments. Robert Pattinson will also join the trilogy.
