On July 17, the cinematic event of the year will finally arrive following years of hype. Featuring a director who has won over the masses and a beyond-star-studded cast, The Odyssey is expected to live up to the original meaning of blockbuster. If it lands well enough, cinemas should be teeming with moviegoers for months.
In case the anticipation wasn’t great enough already, Tom Holland – who’ll be playing Telemachus, son of Odysseus – has spoken highly of the historical epic. He says that audiences will be “really, really blown away.” With the premiere near, people are diving back into the setting and trying to find out more about The Odyssey.
Plenty of Options for Ancient Greek Enthusiasts
With such a highly anticipated film nearly here, it won’t be a surprise that people are seeking out similarly set entertainment options in the meantime. In the very trend-dependent world of slots, Greek myths are surging. In fact, the platform recently added the limited-time exclusive Raging Gods: Olympus 2.
Around that new addition to the library, Age of the Gods: Gold Trio, Gates of Olympus, and Gates of Olympus 1000 have all earned a place on the landing page among the most appealing games to players. Many Reasons to Be Confident About The Odyssey
You don’t have to look far to spot a big-budget franchise movie filled with star actors that has failed to impress. Often due to the writing rather than the aesthetics, for a long time, it’s seemed that Hollywood is far happier to skimp on the writing room in favour of making the film look good.
The Odyssey, on a $250 million budget and featuring Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Mia Goth, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Corey Hawkins, Nick Tarabya, Jon Bernthal, and many others, could fall into this trap, too. However, Nolan has proven himself rather strong at adapting the stories of others.
Oppenheimer truly surged him into the bracket of directors with a box-office draw, with it being a biopic of the man who cracked the formula to make an atomic bomb during World War II. Here, he’s adapting Homer’s 24 poems, The Odyssey, which was preceded by The Iliad. The absurdly strong The Prestige is another fine example of Nolan mastering the cinematic adaptation arts.
Tom Holland didn’t really need to hype up The Odyssey any further, and perhaps that’s why his comments have added to the excitement. We’re expecting it to be a grand experience, and the actor is verifying our anticipation.
