Expectations*

How do you survive a wedding while single? You hide. A chance encounter at a wedding forces two strangers to confront societal expectations surrounding singlehood and being a ‘late bloomer’. Expectations is a coming of age, rom-com, drama short film that discusses single life, late bloomer hood, societies pressure to be in a relationship, the pressure to achieve certain milestones by certain ages and how single life is framed as missing out, but especially when invited to events such as weddings. The protagonists, Mollie and Oliver are the only remaining singles in a wedding full of couples. They stumble upon each other both trying to escape. Can they avoid being set up on a dreaded blind date?
