### After a near-death experience, Asude returns to life—yet feels detached from both her body and the world. Her shadow is gone. This absence marks not only a physical loss, but also a profound spiritual rupture. On the subway, she meets the Drifter, and together they find themselves united in a shared sense of dislocation. Their inner and outer journey begins—one that allows them to confront the lost pieces of themselves: belonging, emotion, and identity. "The Rootless" is the story of two strangers walking the fragile line between merely surviving and truly living.
